Resolve’s first cyber security consultant

19/01/23

For the first time, Resolve has added a cyber security consultant to its ranks. The role will bolster Resolve Cyber Security, a service that provides customers with complete security coverage.

We are very happy to reveal that Matt Wornes has become our first ever cyber security consultant. Over the years – as services and servers have headed into the cloud – we’ve watched cyber security concerns become more of an issue for businesses. So, we thought it was about time we had a member of the team who was continuously learning about new methods of attack and protection, while watching over our customers’ systems.

And Matt’s new role will bolster our relatively new security service - appropriately titled, Resolve Cyber Security. This service allows us to proactively respond to threats before they become major incidents, enforcing high-security standards without interfering with the day-to-day running of a customer’s business. It is an end-to-end, fully managed set of security services that provide complete control and insight into customers' user identities, data, and their devices. Essentially, it provides 360-degree protection and prevention for a business's most precious digital assets.

With a full time member of staff sitting guard over customers' systems, this service will be better than ever. Commercial Director, Jude Coulthard says the new role will be of considerable benefit to customers, explaining: “Our customers can focus on running their businesses knowing that the threat of attack is significantly reduced and their cyber security defences have increased. Cyber attacks can be very costly; by making use of our in-house resources, customers can mitigate this risk.”

Matt’s promotion is extra special because he started out at Resolve as an apprentice. Matt joined the team in 2011 as an IT apprentice and he has worked his way up through account manager, technical specialist and now cyber security consultant. Managing Director, Andrew Seaton says: “Matt is one of our success stories – having started out as an apprentice 12 years ago, he has rapidly progressed in knowledge and experience, and with this promotion he is one of the most senior technical people in Resolve. I am delighted for him, and this new role is a testament to his hard work over the years.”

We asked Matt why he was excited about becoming Resolve’s first cyber security consultant. He said: “Since the beginning of my career, security has always been an area of interest to me. When we first started exploring the idea of Resolve offering a dedicated security service, I had the opportunity to develop my skills in the area, working with businesses to improve their security. For the past three years, I have enjoyed working within the security field, developing both my skills and knowledge as well as continually improving our security offering.”

Adding: “Having a dedicated cyber security consultant is massively important; security within IT is continually changing with threats becoming more advanced each day. This role allows us to be on top of monitoring threats and the latest security developments available to secure our customers’ businesses.”
